Here is the second installment of my weekend box office analysis. Even though I knew it was going to happen, it is sad to actually see The Final Destination take the top spot. People never cease to amaze me. It will be the same when Saw 20 comes to theatre in the fall. Whatever happened to quality movies? Nevermind, there are two quality movies hanging in the top 5. Inglorious Basterds is one of the best movies of the year. I could go on for hours about it. Tarantino proves why I consider him to be one of my favorite directors (future top 5 list?). District 9 is still doing excellent. Good to see an interesting scifi flick staying strong. The two-headed monster of Julie & Julia and The Time Traveler’s Wife are still reeling in the dough at 6 and 7. I’m guessing that girlfriends across the country got their way for yet another week.
