One of the most anticipated movies this year is Avatar. It is directed by James Cameron of Titanic, Aliens, and Terminator fame. This is Cameron’s first movie since Titanic. That is over ten years. He has a thing for putting out epic movies and this one looks continue that legacy. The movie is going to be in 3D Imax. Here is the HD trailer. It looks like no other movie that I’ve seen before. I’m expecting big things.

My Top 5 Most Anticipated Albums (Remainder of ’09)
20 08 2009
5) Say Anything – Say Anything (OCT 13)
If this album is more toward the the …Is A Real Boy part of the spectrum than it should be a worthy release. In Defense of the Genre suffered a little bit because of a couple bad tracks. If it had been condensed into one album it would of been great. They have a pretty unique style and it should be interesting to hear this one.
4) Arctic Monkeys – Humbug (AUG 25)
This one should be interesting because of the more mature sound that they have found. They have a knack for making extremely catchy songs. This one is no exception. Will this mature sound make for a good record? Check back on Tuesday for the review.
3) The Fall of Troy – In The Likely Event (OCT 6)
The Fall of Troy have a new LP coming out to follow up Manipulator. I hope they stick to the production style that made Doppelganger so awesome. I wasn’t the biggest fan of Manipulator. If it can maintain the same chaos that Doppelganger had it should be awesome.
2) Muse – The Resistance (SEPT 14)
The days keep getting closer to the release of what is a sure to be epic album from Muse. I have fought off the urge to listen to any of the advance streams of the new songs off the album. I am going to stay true and listen to this one in all it’s glory. I’m trying to listen to the least amount possible in order to go in with no expectations.
1) Brand New – Daisy (SEPT 22)
I am curious to see if this album makes as big of a leap musically as their previous albums have from each other. From what I have listened too, it sounds like it is in the realm of TDAGARIM. However, it seems like they are going with a much different vocal delivery. Those are my first impressions from the three songs that I have heard. The rest of this album is a mystery. I think the mystery is what makes this my number one. That, and the fact that they always put out quality music.

There aren’t many surprises. Helter Skelter and Taxman should be pretty fun. I just want to hit some harmonies with my two fellow singers. That should definitely make this game interesting. The career mode goes through the history of the Beatles. There also will be full downloads of albums ready by release. Which brings me to this point: why the hell can’t you just put the albums on the game? If they are going to be available for download at release, you could not just throw them on the game? Why of course not, you have to pay $15 or so to buy an entire album. You are only working with 45 tracks on the disk at release. I’m really starting to get annoyed by these blatant money-making schemes.

Third Eye Blind – Ursa Major
This recent release by Third Eye Blind is their first in six years. It is amazing that they have kept a huge and faithful following. Their Self-Titled LP was one of the first albums that I had ever bought. I was ten-years-old and absolutely loved them. Being that young, I would only listened to the first 6 songs (a pretty awesome six songs). I always respected the album, but it wasn’t until I busted it out two years ago that I fully appreciated it. They were different from the mainstream bands that they are grouped in because they actually put out decent-quality music and complete albums. Their best songs are the ones that weren’t all over the radio. It says a lot that they are still around. All of that aside, I don’t think this album will be able to stand beside it’s predecessors. It isn’t bad, it just doesn’t do anything to stand out. They tried working with some hip-hop style verses that just don’t do it. I doubt I will be pulling this one out in ten years to listen to. (1.5/5)

New Say Anything Song
17 08 2009A new Say Anything song was released today on YouTube. While it is nothing groundbreaking, it grows on you after a couple listens. It reminds me of a mix between their first two albums. …Is A Real Boy took plenty of listens to get into. Hopefully we are working with the same type of situation. If you are the type that hates everyone, than this one should be your anthem. I’m finding it hard a hard song to relate to because I like everyone.

New Weezer Single
17 08 2009Weezer’s new single “(If You’re Wondering If I Want You To) I Want You To” has leaked on YouTube. It is important to note that the song is 10x better than anything off the their last album. I am excited for the new one after listening to it.
